Re: What does these symbols mean? If anything?
Mon, September 25, 2006 - 3:57 PMThe individual components are close to being signs used in astrology and astronomy. As a whole I would think it conveys that you were looking for answers to questions through astrology and astronomy but need to look closer to home to give it depth if that is what you want.
That is an interesting on-line service you have used. How does it work for you?

Re: What does these symbols mean? If anything?
Mon, September 25, 2006 - 8:31 PMI'd have to agree. The top sign looks runic, but the others coud be inspired by astrological signs. On the left, could be runic or astrological beneath the triangle and dot embellishment. The one on the bottom looks almost just like the sign for Saturn. Saturn represests self-control, maturity, patience, and stability. The sign on the right is almost exactly the sign for pisces. The top symbol is almost the first letter of the runic alphabet, feoh or fehu, which represents wealth. Originally it meant cattle or "mobile property." It has since come to mean not only wealth, but also energy or fertility. However, while the top and bottom symbols are fairly simple, the ones to the left and right are combinations of symbols.
The one on the left looks almost three dimensional. It also looks to be a conglomeration of three ideas... the underlying runic or astrological sign, a plain triangle pointing upwards has many meanings but is most usually a sign for fire. If the underlying sign is an altered Gemini sign, the triangles would make sense as fire as Gemini is a fire sign. On the other hand, it could be the alchemic sign for a manure heap... still manure and compost creates heat so the triangle as fire is still plausible. If these signs are all based on a astrological-runic combination, the ball and line overlay might be a form of sowilo which is the sun. That all seems to go well together.
The sign on the right may be a combination of the signs for pisces and libra, but seeing as the one of the left seems to go so well together as a whole, I'd say the pisces-libra idea is probably less likely. A line is typically a sign of the firmament. A dot is a sign for origin. The mirroring of these signs above and below the symbol for pisces might be interpreted as "as above, so below," one of the most famous tenets of magic thought.
The central sign seems to be a directional rosette coupled with a dot within a circle -usually a symbol of the sun, within a square which can be a sign for masculinity, matter, the day, or the four elements or corners of heaven (ie the directions), within another circle which is a sign of the feminine, the universe or all existence and time, or divinity.
Taken all together is might be seen as a sigil for change for the better, with fire on one side and water on the other, the two most mutable elements. The top symbol, if it is fehu, provides energy while the bottom provides stability. All these things might be seen to revolve around the bounty of the unverse represented by the sun sign within the square within the circle. -

Re: What does these symbols mean? If anything?
Tue, September 26, 2006 - 9:47 AMHi kind people,
@ first reply (sorry, cant see the username here and Im too lazy to go back :)
Thanks for your reply, and yeah, imageshack is a service where you upload an image for forum display etc and they take it off after a while. Doesnt cost anything and no registration requiered.
@ The Bibliophile
Thank for your reply. Even though I am not a textbook "beliver" but mostly of what you said does make sense due to the course of my life. I am a piscis and I laughed when you said "manure heap" since before this dream I had one about the "old days" having to make way for the new way. The decomposition of the past to give birth/fertility to the new ways. I havent had any guidence on symbols etc, but I seem to draw them on a regular basis (especially when Im concentrating about something) and sometimes I get the feeling of being "forced" to jot it down. Who knows, could be a tick, but I take it from your analysis that it does make sense in small dosis. And yet I have no understanding of this :)
Thanks a bunch, and maybe Ill upload some more if you guys feel like it :)

Re: What does these symbols mean? If anything?
Wed, September 27, 2006 - 6:33 PMThe left symbol reminds me of cunieform with the strokes and triangles, and I think it was also used to write Angelogical/Demonological symbols (each specific being having its own unique symbol)
www.omniglot.com/writing/akkadian.htm
The top symbol does look like something from Futhark or Gothic runes (feoh, for “f” specifically)
www.omniglot.com/writing/r...htm#gothic
The right symbol… Pisces with some additions
The larger outer symbol is apparently an inverted omega… which was used as the symbol of the electrical unit known as the mho*
From wiki: *Mho
The siemens is equivalent to the now obsolete mho unit, which was derived from spelling ohm backwards and written with an upside-down capital Greek letter Omega: , Unicode symbol is U+2127 (℧). The term siemens, as it is an SI unit, is used universally in science and primarily in electrical applications, while mho is still used primarily in electronic applications. The upside down ohm symbol, while not an official SI unit, has the advantage of being less likely to be confused with a variable than the letter S when doing algebraic calculations by hand, where the usual typographical distinctions (such as italic for variables and Roman for unit names) are difficult to maintain. Furthermore, in some industries (like electronics) it is common to incorrectly write the symbol for second as S instead of s, causing potential confusion.
The bottom symbol is perhaps also mathematical?
The central circumscribed squares emitting rays reminds me of symbols used for binding from Hermetic magick. -

Re: What does these symbols mean? If anything?
Wed, September 27, 2006 - 6:47 PMHmm if the larger outer symbol is mathematical, then the underlying sign on the left could be Pi.
